After the council receives the application, it will be checked to ensure it is complete and all required information is correct. A letter of acknowledgement will be sent within 10 working days, and the application will be formally registered. From this point the council usually has up to 8 weeks to make a decision on your application.
All drawings and information will then be published to inform local residents of the proposals, allowing people to comment on the application. The local authority will also consult with all relevant parties such as highways agencies and council bodies.
